Are you planning a rebellion? Or maybe you’re practicing some killer lightsaber moves?
We know you want to look the part, so we’ve assembled three easy steps to upgrade your cosplay game. Read on!
1. Choose your lightsaber
The first thing you want to decide on is your lightsaber. Are you a Jedi Knight or a Sith Lord? Are you more on the Light or Dark side of the Force, or maybe you’re more ambiguous and you stand in the middle? Whatever your inclinations might be, you have to choose a lightsaber that best represents your inner self.
2. Choose your hero
Once you’ve decided on which side of the Force you stand and the color of your lightsaber, it’s time to choose a character you want to cosplay as. Who corresponds the most with your inner struggles or ambitions? Who did you root for from beginning till end? That is your character and the one you want to emulate when preparing your cosplay.
3. Create your outfit
The best and most fun part is to prepare your cosplay costume. There are two ways you can do this:
- Buy ready-made – this is the easiest way, but the most expensive. If you’re heading to a Comic-Con and you’re pressed for time, just find the nearest store or order online. It will save you tons of time and you won’t need to consider whether something will fall off your costume.
- DIY – the more time-consuming, but more fulfilling thing to do, is to prepare your own costume. Go to the nearest thrift shop and you can find almost everything you need on the cheap to create a custom outfit. Buy some hot glue and with the simplest of sewing skills, you can do wonders with your costumes. If you need some fresh ideas, just find some videos on YouTube on how to make your own Star Wars outfit.
